Fun Facts About The Shining

I’m not sure that this is a fun fact or not but it’s certainly interesting. Stephen King apparently hated Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of his book.

Stanley Kubrick was quite a recluse and few people knew what he looked like. So when his fans would go to his house looking for him, he’d tell them that “Stanley wasn’t home.”

Stanley Kubrick reportedly made Shelley Duvall do the bat scene 127 times. He was known as the “perfectionist nightmare director.” Not really a “fun” fact but a fact nonetheless.

Stephen King was so annoyed about Kubrick’s adaptation of his book that he created a TV mini series that aired in the 90s.
